ABOUT LOW SPEED VEHICLES (LSV)

An LSV is a four-wheeled vehicle with a top speed of 20 to 25 mph, allowed on roads where the speed limit does not exceed 35 mph.

LSV Insurance: Florida law requires LSV owners to have Florida Automobile Insurance for an LSV with personal injury protection (PIP) and property damage liability (PDL) insurance. This insurance must be specific to LSVs and not categorized as “Golf Cart” OR "Motorcycle" insurance. Ensure your insurance is active before driving on public roads.

Copy of Florida-issued PIP and PDL Low Speed Vehicle Insurance Card/Certificate. Card/Certificate MUST contain corresponding policy number for vehicle.


Binders, declaration pages and application submissions are NOT accepted forms of insurance by our office.


Must be active before tag and registration can be issued.
